China’s image in Brazil is very positive, according to a new survey report.

The global survey, based on 4,500 respondents from several countries last year, found that China’s overall image has been increasingly recognised by the global community, state-owned newspaper China Daily reported.

The ‘National Image Global Survey 2014’ was released in Beijing on Wednesday.

The average score of China’s international image in 2014 was 5.9 on a scale of 1 to 10, up from the previous year’s 5.1, according to the study conducted by the Centre for International Communication Studies of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, Millward Brown and Lightspeed GMI.

The countries covered in the survey included: the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, South Africa, India, Russia and Brazil.

The average score of China’s image in Brazil last year was 6.9 points. China only had a better image in Russia, with a score of 7.6 points.
