On the evening of October 3, the cultural exchange activity “China-PSC Exchange: Macao’s Role as a Bridge” kicked off at BIG Shopping Park in Beijing as part of the 17th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

On the evening of September 28, the 17th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was grandly inaugurated at the Legend Square in Fisherman’s Wharf, Macao.

The Handicraft Fair, a highlight of the 17th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, officially opened at 3:00 p.m. on September 27.

Organized by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), the “17th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” was grandly inaugurated on 28 September at the Fisherman’s Wharf Legend Boulevard in Macao.

To further the outcomes of the 6th Ministerial Conference and enhance Macao’s role as “One Center, One Platform, One Base”, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) (hereinafter referred to as Forum Macao) will strengthen co-operation in the audiovisual sector between China and PSC to promote cultural exchange.

The 17th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, organized by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), will take place from September 26 to November 18, 2025. This year’s event will feature cultural exchange activities in Macao, inviting artists, craftsmen, and chefs from China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSC).

From July 30 to 31, 2025, the delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng, visited Guinea-Bissau.

The Macao Special Administrative Region Government has approved Che Weng Keong to concurrently serve as the Coordinator of the Support Office of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) with effect from July 2025, succeeding the former Coordinator, U U Sang.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Cabo Verde’s independence, several Cabo Verdean officials visited Macao to participate in celebratory events. On July 3, Cabo Verde’s Minister of Internal Administration, Paulo Rocha, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

On June 28, Maria de Fátima Manso, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Mozambique, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) in Macao.

Appointed by the Macao SAR Government, Mr. António Lei will assume the role of Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) effective July 1, 2025, succeeding former Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Casimiro de Jesus Pinto.
