Given the proximity of a typhoon to Macao and the fact that the signal number 8 was raised at 10am, several activities of the Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries scheduled for today have been cancelled. Those activities include the handicraft and art fair, the World of Flavours’ from Portuguese-speaking Countries, theatre shows and art exhibitions.

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) visited the cities of Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province and Changsha in Hunan Province between September 21 and 25, to attend a series of economic and trade events.

The 9th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries will be held from October 14 to 22. The opening ceremony will take place on October 17, at 6pm, at the Tromba Rija restaurant in the Macau Tower.

The closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the “Seminar on Co-operation in Traditional Medicine between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Parisian Macao on September 28.

Some of the organisers of the “Boao Asia Development Forum (Macau) 2017” – including Co-President Mr Mok Chi Wai; Vice President Mr Pang Chuan; and representative Ms Chan Sao Chai – visited on September 14 the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) – led by Deputy Secretary-General Mr Rodrigo Brum and Deputy Secretary-General Ms Echo Chan, and including Representatives in Forum Macao of the Portuguese-speaking Countries – visited in Tianjin on September 7 a display centre for products from Macao and from Portuguese-speaking Countries.

The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) held a special meeting in Beijing on September 8.

Mr Rodrigo Manuel Ferreira Brum officially took office – on September 1 – as the new Deputy Secretary-General, representing the Portuguese-speaking Countries, of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

A delegation of the Municipal Government of Qingdao, led by Mayor Meng Fanli, visited on August 14 the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

A delegation led by the Chair of the Committee for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr Tian Guiming, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) on August 3.

The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao, informs that new representatives from Cape Verde and from São Tomé and Príncipe took office on August 1, 2017.

The Representative of Cape Verde at the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Mr Mário Vicente, completed his term in office on July 31, 2017.
