Secretary-General Mr Ji Xianzheng meets with Macao Chamber of Commerce President, Mr Chui Sai Cheong

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr Ji Xianzheng, paid a visit on March 23 to the President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, Mr Chui Sai Cheong.


Mr Chui welcomed the delegation headed by Mr Ji on this visit to the Macao Chamber of Commerce. Mr Chui gave a brief presentation on the chamber’s general situation, and the body’s most prominent activities. Mr Chui also said that the Macao Chamber of Commerce would improve its internal structure to provide even more support to Forum Macao, in order to contribute to the advancement of Macao’s role as a trade cooperation service platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.


Macao Chamber of Commerce Vice-Presidents Mr Vong Kok Seng, Mr Lao Ngai Leong, and Ms Lou Tak Wa also took part in the meeting, and provided suggestions regarding cooperation between the two sides.


Secretary-General Mr Ji expressed his gratitude for the support and active participation of the Macao Chamber of Commerce in the activities carried out by Forum Macao. He made a presentation of the situation of Forum Macao and its Permanent Secretariat, and on the main highlights of the Permanent Secretariat’s action plan for this year.


Mr Ji also said Forum Macao would carry out its work and activities in coordination with the 2nd Five-Year Plan of the Macao SAR Government, while taking advantage of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, to encourage economic and trade exchanges between mainland China, Macau and the Portuguese-speaking Countries. This would contribute to the integration of Macao into national development strategies and create favourable conditions for Macao’s economic diversification, he added.
