INSA meets with representatives of the Chinese Embassy

This week, the Director of the National Semi-Arid Institute (INSA), Dr. José Etham de Lucena Barbosa, was in Brasilia at the invitation of the Office of the Secretary of Science and Technology for Social Development of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Inácio Arruda.


The agenda included a meeting with other representatives from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Chinese Embassy to discuss matters of bilateral interest.


Due to the potential of its work, INSA will implement the cooperation agreement between China and Brazil with a series of initiatives aimed at family farming, including the joint promotion of a network of laboratories in the so-called “Belt and Road” initiative.


At the meeting, the authorities agreed on the importance of having various players in the Northeast, defining scientific cooperation themes, priority research projects and content for cooperation, as well as budgetary and intellectual property issues between the partners.
