Macau Chief Executive vows to continue to promote cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries

The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), Sam Hou Fai, hosted a reception on January 21 for the consuls-general of foreign countries in the Macao Special Administrative Region and for the delegates of Portuguese-speaking countries at the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau Forum).


According to a statement on the website of the Government Information Bureau of Macao, Sam Hou Fai said in his speech that the Macao SAR will remain committed to promoting cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and will constantly deepen collaboration between the Macao SAR and will comprehensively push forward pragmatic cooperation in various fields with all nations.


"In the new phase, we must further enrich and expand the role and functions of the Sino-Lusophone platform, actively implement the various agreements and instruments established within the scope of the 6th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao, especially the Action Plan for Cooperation Economic and Trade Agreement (2024-2027) and we must continue to promote joint development featuring equality, cooperation and mutual benefits, comprehensively raising the level of Sino-Portuguese-speaking cooperation."
