On June 22, Angola's President João Lourenço conducted a field visit to the recently constructed Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport to closely observe the arrangements for regular passenger flight operations later this year.

The Angolan President's visit was attended by the main parties involved in the project, such as the Ministry of Transport and the Chinese construction company AVIC, responsible for execution.

During the work meeting, Lourenço was able to follow in-depth the status of the work that has already been constructed and inaugurated and the remaining tasks that must be finished for the airport to be fully operational for passenger flights. To date, the gigantic infrastructure has already been receiving cargo flights for a few months.

Lourenço toured several sectors of the airport that are being tested for full entry into operation.
