According to Gilberto Silva, this is a national project, but at the moment the focus is to combat the thousand-foot pest on the island of Santo Antão and develop the production of seaweed for human consumption in Santiago, but the idea is to expand the project to other islands.

At the moment, six of the seven experts are already in Cape Verde who will share with Cape Verdean technicians, students in the fields of agriculture and livestock, all the knowledge and good practices to reinforce the country's capacity in the areas of combating pests, soil conservation and water, agricultural production, livestock farming and seaweed aquaculture.
