Portugal will be promoting tourism in China between April and May next year, announced the Portuguese Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Nuno Fazenda, during a visit to Macau in September. 

The Portuguese government official said that the aim is to raise Portugal's profile in China, and that it is planned to take place in "some of the main Chinese cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou and the regions of Macau and Hong Kong".

The Portuguese government will reinforce its presence at ITB, the tourism industry fair dedicated exclusively to the Chinese market, in Shanghai, with the involvement of associations and companies and on social media.
