Among the exhibitors at the ProWine China 2019 wine trade fair in Shanghai are 35 Portuguese winemakers, Dinheiro Vivo reports.

The Portuguese financial news website says the Portuguese, under the brand “Wine of Portugal,” make up the seventh-largest group of exhibitors at the fair.

The report says the association of Portuguese winemakers, ViniPortugal, arranged for the Portuguese exhibitors to attend with the purpose of bringing their wines to the attention of the Chinese market.

Portugal is the 11th-biggest source of the wine China imports, and the value of Chinese imports of Portuguese wine grew 1.3 percent last year, with the average price rising 23.8 percent, the report says.

The three-day wine trade fair, the biggest of its type in China, is due to end tomorrow, Dinheiro Vivo says.
