China’s Ambassador to Cape Verde, Du Xiaocong, on Tuesday started a three-day visit to the Cape-Verdean island of Boa Vista in a bid to strengthen co-operation between China and the archipelago’s third largest island.
Cape Verdean newspaper A Semana reported that Mr Du would meet with José Pinto Almeida, Mayor of Boa Vista, on Thursday. The Chinese Embassy team led by Mr Du would deliver medical and school supplies to a health unit and a school there, the newspaper added.
The Ambassador is seeking to learn more about the development of the island and to continue the relationship and co-operation between China and Boa Vista established by former Chinese Ambassador Su Jian, A Semana reported.
Mr Du was appointed in April last year to replace Mr Su, who served in the archipelago for over two years.
