The president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, celebrated on his social networks the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Brazilian company and the China National Chemical Energy Company (CNCEC). The Chinese state-owned company is one of the largest chemical industries on the planet.

The agreement provides for collaboration in various areas, especially renewable energies and energy transition. According to the president of Petrobras, the protocol has a duration of two years and will be immediately put into practice with the joint analysis of fertilizer and petrochemical assets. The protocol was signed at the Petrobras headquarters in Brasilia (Edibra).

CNCEC and the Brazilian Vamtec Group are studying the implementation of a coal gasification industry in Candiota, with the production of methanol, urea and fertilizers. A mission is due to travel to China in the second half of this year to deepen negotiations.
