On April 10 in Luanda, the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, received the Chinese ambassador accredited to Angola, with whom she discussed matters of common interest.
The Chinese ambassador, Zhang Bin, said that the two countries would strengthen cooperation and dialogue on regional and international issues, as part of joint efforts to defend peace and security and promote regional development.
The diplomat said there was a desire to strengthen high-level exchanges between the two parliamentary institutions and cooperation between the specialized committees and friendship groups of the National Assembly and the People's Assembly of China.
Angola and China established diplomatic relations on January 12, 1983, opening a new chapter in the history of the traditional friendship between the two countries.
