Considered one of the largest infrastructure companies in China, China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) expressed interest in participating in the BR-040 auction in the segment between Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. The information was published by the newspaper “Valor Económico”.

The notice for re-tendering the section of BR-040 between Juiz de Fora and Nova Lima was published by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) on December 29, 2023.

In auction mode, the competition in the Minas Gerais segment of the road is scheduled for April 11th, starting at 2 p.m. on the São Paulo Stock Exchange. The stretch in question is 232 kilometers long and needs several improvements, as it still has a single lane (no dividing wall) and lacks shoulders in many places.
