After representatives of a Chinese state-owned company showed interest in carrying out studies on Metro Line 3, the State Secretariat for Transport and Urban Mobility (Setram) announced that it will publish a call for tenders for the feasibility study of new metro road expansions in the next few days.
According to the press release issued by Setram, these expansions include the extension of Line 4 (Barra da Tijuca - Recreio dos Bandeirantes) and Line 3, which will connect Praça XV (Rio) - Niterói - São Gonçalo.
On the 29th of August, in a meeting with Governor Cláudio Castro at the Guanabara Palace, a delegation from the Chinese state-owned CRRC Corporation Limited expressed not only its interest in carrying out studies on Metro Line 3, but also presented the DLS model that it develops, which covers everything from the plan of construction to the operation with the support of intelligence.
