The amount of Brazilian crude oil shipped to Chinese independent refineries grew to 14.7 million tonnes in the first 11 months of this year, 93.2 percent more than in the corresponding period last year, S&P Global Platts reports.

The collector of oil market information says the growth made Brazil the second-biggest supplier of oil to Chinese independent refineries in the first 11 months, Russia being the biggest.

The report says Chinese independent refineries bought more Russian crude last month than the month before, bringing the total bought from Russia in the first 11 months to 17.76 million tonnes, or 7.4 percent more than in the corresponding period last year.

Brazilian oil company Petrobras will start this month exports of a new grade of crude oil, known as Búzios, and the first Búzios shipments will probably reach China at the end of next month, S&P Global Platts says.
