The government in Luanda forecasts that Angolan gross domestic product will grow at an average annual rate of 3 percent between now and 2022, driven by industries other than oil, Lusa reports.
The Portuguese news agency says the forecast is contained in the five-year plan for 2018 to 2022 announced by Economy and Planning Minister Pedro Luís da Fonseca.
The report quotes Mr Fonseca as saying the plan envisages average annual rates of growth of 8.9 percent in agriculture, 5.9 percent in manufacturing, 4.8 percent in fishing, 5.9 percent in tourism and 3.8 percent in construction.
On the contrary, the oil industry is forecast to average an annual drop of about 1.8 percent, Lusa says.
