Representatives of the City University of Macao and the University of Évora in Portugal have signed an agreement to co-operate on healthcare for the elderly and on technology for translating Chinese into Portuguese, the Macao Daily News reports.

The newspaper says the universities have already jointly set up a laboratory of heritage science.

The report says the lab does research into and analysis of the cultural heritage of Macao and southern China, so contributing to the development of heritage science in Macao and Mainland China.

The City University of Macao teaches programmes leading to postgraduate degrees in studies of lusophone countries, and intends to set up the first graduate school in Macao or Mainland China for students of relations between China and the lusophone world, the Macao Daily News says.
