The Macao Federal Commercial Association of Wine and Food Industries in Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Regions opened on Monday an exhibition centre in the southern Chinese city of Jiangmen to show off food and wine produced in Macao and the Portuguese-speaking world, the Macao Daily News reports.
The newspaper says the association already has similar exhibition centres in the Chinese cities of Shanghai, Foshan, Changsha, Ningbo, Yangzhou, Hefei and Guiyang.
The report quotes the chairman of the association, Ip Sio Man, as saying his association will set up in the second half of this year yet another such exhibition centre, in the city of Dongguan, also in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.
Mr Ip hopes the new centres will enhance the reputation of the wine and food produced in Portuguese-speaking countries, and increase awareness of them in the mainland Chinese market, the Macao Daily News says.
