The Macao Consumer Council and a Brazilian consumer protection association, Proteste, have agreed on arrangements to uphold the interests of Chinese consumers that visit or live in Brazil, the council says.
The Macao Consumer Council issued a written statement saying Proteste has undertaken to act on complaints to the council made by Chinese in Brazil, and to do so within 15 days of receiving them.
The council says the parties agreed on the arrangement at a recent meeting in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
The arrangement is another aspect of the performance by Macao of its function as a place where China and lusophone countries can conduct business, the Macao Consumer Council says.
