A new cargo air route linking the southern Chinese metropolis Shenzhen to Sao Paulo of Brazil, was launched by the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group. This is the first international cargo freight route from Shenzhen to South America.
The new air route has two flights weekly conducted by Atlas Air’s Boeing 747 cargo aircraft. The first flight carrying 100 tonnes of e-commerce products took off from Shenzhen on the 2nd of April. The new air route is expected to stimulate the e-commerce trade between the two countries.
In addition, Cainiao announced a cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to jointly build the first national air cargo centre for Cainiao international express and introduce more international air cargo routes, increasing the capacity of full cargo aircraft.
