TCL announces plans to expand its presence in Brazil, planning a new factory in the country, reinforcing investments in large smart TVs and targeting new product categories.
In Brazil, since July 2016, TCL has operated through a joint venture with the Brazilian company SEMP, now known as TCL SEMP. The joint venture operates two factories in Manaus (AM), a distribution center in Cajamar and an office in São Paulo.
“The Brazilian market is essential for TCL’s international expansion plans,” highlights Eason Cai, CEO of TCL SEMP. The company has already invested more than R$150 million in its TV factory in Brazil, with a manufacturing capacity of 3.5 million units per year. Its air conditioning factory, which can produce 1 million products annually, received investments of R$31 million. The result was 100% growth in both sectors in the last year.
