The increase in coffee consumption in China could generate opportunities for agribusiness in São Paulo. This was one of the conclusions of the InvestSP mission, linked to the Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE), Chongqing.
“China is the main destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports; that is, it trusts what is produced in the country. Our idea is to take advantage of this to create opportunities and encourage agricultural exports from São Paulo," says the head of the InvestSP office in China, Inty Scoss.
The InvestSP team also identified opportunities in the area of beekeeping. Chongqing is the sixth-largest honey producer in China and 90% of businesses in the sector are small and family-owned. In this case, the possibility of joint actions with the Chongqing Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission and the Chongqing Beekeeping Academy was discussed to encourage business generation and knowledge exchange between Chinese and São Paulo companies.
