NIU, the Chinese brand of electric scooters, recently opened the pre-sale of the first model that stands out from the city bikes sold by the company in Brazil. It's the XQI3, a cross-style bike with a list price of R$59,980 and reservations can be purchased for R$5,000.
The XQI3 comes equipped with an electric motor capable of generating 10 hp (or 8,000W) of peak power. If this figure doesn't impress, the torque does: 36.4 kgfm. The battery pack is supplied by LG (72V32ah) and promises 90 km of autonomy at a top speed of 80 km/h.
The bike has KKE suspension with adjustable shock absorbers at the rear and, curiously, a smaller wheel at the front (rim 19) and a larger one at the rear (rim 20). The seat is 87.5 cm off the ground, a distance equal to that of a Yamaha Lander 250.
