A Mainland Chinese official has said his country is willing to speed up its investment projects in Guinea-Bissau, Macauhub reports.
The news website quotes Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of African Affairs Director-general Lin Songtian as saying during a visit to Guinea-Bissau that the acceleration of Chinese projects, especially agricultural and infrastructure projects, would mean “the fruits of bilateral co-operation are visible”.
The report says Mr Lin led a Chinese delegation to the Portuguese-speaking country, where he met Guinea-Bissau Prime Minister Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
Mr Lin said ways to improve the relationship were discussed, and he pledged Beijing’s support in countering poverty and in developing sustainably.
