Mainland China plans to invest US$184 million in the construction of a 30-megawatt biomass power plant in Guinea-Bissau, the Reuters news agency reports.
The report quotes a statement from the Chinese Embassy, released on Sunday, saying the Mainland will secure 93 percent of the cost and Guinea-Bissau will fund the remainder.
The plant will help address long-running electricity shortages in Guinea-Bissau.
Beijing has helped fund or build several projects in Guinea-Bissau, including the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro, the National Assembly building and the Palace of Justice.
