Macao will host the 43rd National Congress of the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies from November 23-27, the Macao Government Tourism Office has announced.
It will be the fifth time the city has hosted the event, the tourism bureau says. The congress was last held in Macao in 2008.
November’s event is likely to attract more than 500 tourism professionals, mainly tourism operators and travel agents.
Macao Government Tourism Office Director Helena de Senna Fernandes said the event would allow “Macao to enhance its role as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and a service platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries”.
Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies President Pedro Costa Ferreira said Macao was a historical destination that had developed continually to gather “all the conditions to lure the interest” of tourism operators, travel agents and their “national clients”.
