Mozambican Minister of Industry and Commerce Ragendra Berta de Sousa has called for his country and China to cooperate more in farming, because Mozambique has a vast amount of land.

Mr Berta de Sousa made the call in an interview broadcast by state-run China Radio International. He was speaking in Beijing, where he was attending a meeting about Sino-African cooperation.

Mr Berta de Sousa said a large proportion of Mozambicans worked on farms, and that any improvements in agriculture could help develop the country.

Infrastructure, education and training are also important for the development of Mozambique, the Minister told China Radio International.
