Trade between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries hit US$90 billion in the first eight months of 2014, up by 4.69 percent from a year earlier, according to data from the Chinese General Administration of Customs.

Chinese imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries grew by 5.55 percent year-on-year in the first eight months of the year, reaching US$61 billion. China sold goods and services to Portuguese-speaking Countries worth US$29 billion during the period, up by 2.95 percent from a year earlier.

Total trade value for the month of August reached US$12.64 billion, down by 0.81 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries fell by 3.97 percent month-on-month to US$8.23 billion in August, while exports to those countries reached US$4.40 billion, up by 5.71 percent from the previous month.
