One hundred thousand houses are to be built over the next four years (50 months) in Angola to exclusively benefit the Angolan teaching profession, in an initiative by the Chinese construction company “The 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group Co”, which is planning an initial investment of 1.5 billion US dollars.

To carry out this housing project, called “Educational City”, the construction company and the Teachers' Welfare Fund (CPP) signed a cooperation agreement on January 10 in Luanda to start the first phase of the project, which includes the construction of 30,000 homes.

The protocol was signed by the president of the Teachers' Welfare Fund, Miguel Flávio Bongo, on the Angolan side, and the director of Metallurgical Construction, Hu Jianjun, who undertook to start work within 60 days. The first phase of the project, to be developed in four stages, will cover the regions of Luanda and Icolo e Bengo.
