Representing the Rector of the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV), the Pro-Rector for Technology, Innovation and Data, Celestino Barros, accompanied by the Director of the Confucius Institute at Uni-CV, He Jianing, participated in the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference, held in Beijing between November 15 and 17. The event brought together experts, academics and representatives of higher education institutions from more than 160 countries and regions, with the aim of promoting cultural exchange and deepening the study and teaching of the Chinese language.
The conference, organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute and its central theme was “Connectivity, Integration, Heritage and Innovation”. For three days, participants were involved in plenary sessions, thematic workshops and panel discussions that discussed topics such as the pedagogical innovation in Mandarin teaching, the role of language in cultural diplomacy and strategies for integrating digital resources into language teaching.
The participation of Uni-CV in the conference is part of its strategic partnership with the Confucius Institute, which since its establishment in Cape Verde has promoted the teaching of Chinese language and culture, facilitating academic and cultural exchanges.
