With the aim of seeing for themselves the transition to electrification, leaders of the ABC Metalworkers' Union organized an agenda in China to meet automakers of electric light and heavy vehicles, battery and semiconductor manufacturers and technology companies. The delegation also visited Shanghai Polytechnic University, the Brazilian Embassy in China, the headquarters of the BRICS Bank and ICBC, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
Over the course of ten days, they immersed themselves in the Chinese automotive chain and visited Shanghai, Beijing, Ningde, Zhengzhou and Baoding, where they saw in practice what Higer Bus, Nio Automotive, CATL Baterias, SAIC Automotive, Yutong Bus, GWM Motors, GigaDevice, Citic and Kwai do and how they produce.
During the meetings, there was also a presentation on the Greater ABC region, which is the cradle of the automotive sector in Brazil but which, in recent decades, has suffered from the evasion of companies, and on the union's role in the process of reindustrialization and in attracting new companies to the region.
