The Mainland is the single biggest foreign investor in Brazil this year, Xinhua reports.

The government-run news agency cites data from Dealogic who have estimated that US$5.67 billion has been spent by Mainland interests on mergers and acquisitions in Brazil up to the middle of this month.

The figure represents about 37.5 percent of all mergers and acquisitions in Brazil this year.
