China has offered a total of 370 computers to the Government of Guinea-Bissau, a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Bissau, the African country’s capital, said on Tuesday.
The computers are worth a total of about US$800,000, reported Chinese official news agency Xinhua.
“The donation was a gesture of friendship by the Chinese people towards Guinea-Bissau people,” said Wang Hua, China’s Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau.
Minister for the Presidency Baciro Djá thanked China for the support. The computers will help improve the operational capacity of Guinea Bissau’s public institutions, Xinhua quoted Mr Djá as saying.
