Attracting the Chinese pharmaceutical industry to the Midwest is one of the objectives of the Goiás government. The idea is to set up a laboratory in Anápolis (GO), in partnership with the Hebei University of Chinese Medicine.

For the negotiations, Joel Braga Filho, Secretary of Industry, Trade and Services, met with Gao Wijuan, president of the university, and Li Yongmin, vice-president. The institution currently has three secondary schools, four affiliated hospitals and 14 research centers of different sizes.

The college has already had a partnership with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) since 2019. Through the joint work, an institute was created that offers classes on the country's culture and language, as well as teaching traditional Chinese medicine.
