The value of Cape Verde’s merchandise imports in the third quarter of this year was 42.2 percent greater than a year earlier, Lusa reports.

Portuguese news agency, citing data from Cape Verde’s National Statistics Institute, says the value of the country’s third-quarter exports fell by 15.4 percent.

The report fails to give a sum for either imports or exports.

Lusa says 46.5 percent of Cape Verde’s third-quarter imports came from Portugal and 4.3 percent from China.

Fish and fish products accounted for nearly half of Cape Verde’s third-quarter exports, the report says.
