Mozambique’s government plans to build a 4,500-hectare duty-free industrial zone in Tete province, the Macauhub website reports.

The US$770-million project at Revubué would rely on private-sector support, Macauhub reported, citing the Notícias newspaper.

A blueprint is being drafted, but industrial development and other services would be included, Council of Ministers spokesman Mouzinho Saíde was reported as saying.

“We have identified some potential investors and the process of launching tenders is underway for the construction of the steel plant that will be deployed as an anchor project in that area,” Mr Saíde was reported as saying.
