On May 31, a delegation led by Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Wang Bingnan, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao to meet with China’s representatives in that body.

Deputy Secretary-General Mr Ding Tian warmly welcomed the delegation. He then gave a brief presentation on the work carried out by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, focusing on its activities regarding promotion of economic and trade cooperation, production capacity, cultural exchanges, and human resource training.

Vice Minister Wang stressed that the Ministry of Commerce attached great importance to Forum Macao’s role as a multilateral cooperation mechanism, and to Macao’s role as a cooperation platform. He also encouraged the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao to continue preparatory work for the 6th Ministerial Conference, to be held next year, in order to ensure it would be a success.
