The Macao Government will launch a subsidy scheme to encourage graduates to study languages outside the city, Macao’s Tertiary Education Services Office says.

The programme, to be launched next Tuesday, consists of the payment of interests of loans contracted by Macao residents to pay for language training courses outside the city and related living expenses. The funding applies to courses in Portuguese, Mandarin or English.

Students interested in learning Portuguese can apply for courses in any of Portuguese-speaking Countries, says radio broadcaster Rádio Macau.
