An agreement to ensure the strengthening and enhancement of trade and financial relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Angola was signed on the 13th of August in Luanda by the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao, and the Angolan Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano.
The document was signed at the end of the 2nd Meeting of the Steering Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Angola, and on that occasion, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination expressed Angola's interest in continuing to deepen trade and financial relations with public and private entities in the People's Republic of China.
"China's presence in Angola and its businessmen have contributed significantly to new infrastructure across the country, which has allowed the Angolan government to better serve Angola's socio-economic development goals," said José de Lima Massano.
At the meeting, the Chinese offical highlighted his country's investments in Angola in recent years, highlighting the fact that Angola is one of the largest trading partners in Africa and the largest source of oil imports for the Asian giant.
