China has agreed to give Mozambique another US$45.3 million to build Xai-Xai airport in the province of Gaza, Jornal Noticias reports.

The Mozambican newspaper says China had promised before to give US$15 million for the airport, so the latest commitment brings the total amount China will contribute to over US$60 million.

The report says the agreement on the latest Chinese commitment was signed by Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs Oldemiro Baloi and Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian.

China has also agreed to give Mozambique US$7.45 million to buy 100 buses for public transport, and to pay an unspecified sum for the installation of satellite television reception apparatus in 500 Mozambican villages, Jornal Noticias reports.
