On 22 September, Mr. João Manuel Ganga Júnior, Chairman of Endiama E.P., the National Diamond Company of Angola, led a senior delegation of the Angolan diamond industry to visit the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.
Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng welcomed the delegation led by the Chairman, João Manuel Ganga Júnior, and briefly introduced the work undertaken by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao in advancing economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Secretary-General Ji noted that in recent years, economic and trade relations between China and Angola have maintained sound momentum for development, and with significant growth potential in the Chinese market, the Secretariat is willing to support the Angolan diamond industry in expanding its markets in Macao and mainland China.
Mr. João Manuel Ganga Júnior expressed that Angolan diamond companies wish to leverage Forum Macao and the Macao platform to enhance economic and trade cooperation with enterprises in mainland China and Macao, as well as attract more Chinese companies to invest in the Angolan diamond industry. Meanwhile, Angolan corporations seek to form partnerships with more Chinese enterprises in sectors such as the trade of agricultural products, infrastructure, energy, and aquatic products to advance mutually beneficial cooperation.
Mr. Agostinho João António dos Santos, representative of Angola at Forum Macao, introduced the upcoming first China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo and the 28th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair this October in Macao and welcomed the active participation of Angolan diamond industry companies.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Paulo Jorge do Espírito Santo, the Deputy Secretary-General of Forum Macao; Mr. Su Wei, the Chairman of the Macao Diamond and Gem Exchange; and others.
