On November 22, the Brazilian Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Vice Minister of Housing, Jiang Wanrong, in the areas of housing, natural disaster prevention, infrastructure and urban environment.

This cooperation aims to formulate joint policies for climate transition, smart cities, sustainable public transportation and sewage and waste treatment. Another goal is creating the so-called “sponge cities”, with the capacity to absorb rainwater and prevent flooding.

The agreement includes sharing information and resources and promoting visits by official and business delegations between two countries.
