The Brazil-China Partnership for mechanization of family farming begins this month in the municipality of Apodi/RN. The initiative, the result of a memorandum of understanding signed between the Northeast Consortium, the China Agricultural University (CAU) and other entities, aims to enhance the production of healthy foods in the Northeast Region through agricultural mechanization adapted to the reality of family farming.
The start of the program is scheduled for the period from January 25th to February 2nd, with seminars, training on how to use the machines and the launch of the testing field in the municipality.
“We are expecting to receive a batch of more than 30 machines that will be tested in Rio Grande do Norte and then go to the states of Paraíba, Ceará, Piauí and Maranhão”, said a representative of the project.
The mechanization of family farming will help to secure the farming family in the countryside, in addition to enabling the insertion of women and young people into labor.
