A university professor has called for more academic exchanges between the Mainland and Latin America, particularly so with Brazil, Xinhua reports.

The government-run news agency quotes Renmin University of China School of Economics Assistant Professor Qi Hao. “China and Brazil are big economies. There are many common benefits these two economies can pursue together,” Prof Qi was quoted as saying.

He urged greater co-operation between Brazil and the Mainland. “We need to understand more about the Brazilian and Latin American economies,” he said. “Brazilians know more about us than we know about them.”
