Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$69.129 billion in the period from January to September 2016. It represented a 9.61 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$47.851 billion to China in the first nine months of 2016 – an increase of 0.09 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$21.278 billion in the same period, down 25.78 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in September between the parties topped US$8.898 billion, up by 1.91 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$6.168 billion, up by 3.71 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$2.730 billion in September, a decline of 1.94 percent compared with August.
