Valongo receives new Chinese investment and creates 200 jobs

The city of Valongo, in the Porto Metropolitan Area, will be the scene of a new Chinese investment in the renewable energy sector. AOSHENG HI-TECH, one of the main manufacturers of components for wind turbines, will set up a factory in the region, in a project valued at 17.6 million euros and which will create 200 jobs. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2026.


China's ambassador to Portugal, Zhao Bentang, highlighted the importance of this investment and stressed that China sees Portugal as an attractive destination for business due to its stability and favorable policy towards foreign investment.


Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel's visit to China further strengthens cooperation between the two countries, which continue to deepen commercial and diplomatic ties. With an accumulated investment of over 12 billion euros in recent years, China reaffirms its commitment to the growth of the Portuguese market.
