Protocol signed by Brazil and China for the development of CBERS-6 was approved

On October 9, the Foreign Relations and National Defense Commission (CREDN) approved the text of the Complementary Protocol on the joint development of CBERS-6, signed by Brazil and China. 


The protocol was signed in April last year in Beijing, aimed to complement and update the Framework Agreement on Cooperation in Peaceful Applications of Outer Space Science and Technology, signed by two countries in 1994.


The initial estimated cost for the development, manufacture and launch of CBERS-6 is US$ 51 million for each part and the Complementary Protocol will come into force after the exchange of ratification instruments by Brazil and China.
