Hello, Chinese is the theme of the concert commemorating the International Day of the Chinese Language in Portugal, which takes place on April 21 at 3:30 p.m. at the José Lúcio da Silva Theater in Leiria.
With free admission, the concert is part of the program commemorating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Portugal and the 25th anniversary of Macau's return to China, and features 11 performances, including Chinese and Portuguese compositions.
The event aims to promote linguistic and cultural development between China and Portugal, in the context of which bilateral relations have been developing and are intended to deepen, and is organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Portugal, the School of Education and Social Sciences and the University of Shanghai, with the support of Leiria City Council, says a press release from the Polytechnic of Leiria.
This is the first time that Leiria has hosted the event, which will be attended by the Chinese ambassador to Portugal, Zhao Bentang, the vice-president of Shanghai University, Xuemei, and the president of the Polytechnic of Leiria, Carlos Rabadão.
