Representatives of Macao Bringbuys Web Technology are due in Praia today to resume negotiations about setting up a cloud computing centre in Cabo Verde, Inforpress reports.

The Cabo Verde state-run news agency quotes a written statement issued by the Cabo Verde trade and investment promotion agency Cabo Verde TradeInvest as saying Macao Bringbuys intends to turn Cabo Verde into a technology hub serving West Africa.

Macao Bringbuys envisages an offshore data centre, training institutions and technology incubators in Cabo Verde, Inforpress quotes the agency as saying.

Bringbuys is scheduled to meet with Cabo Verde TradeInvest and with the Information Society Operational Nucleus.

In February Inforpress reported that the agency and Macao Bringbuys had agreed last June to work on setting up a cloud computing centre in Cabo Verde.
